~Felt Flowers~ {take 2}

Just a quick update, or "take 2"! I was experimenting a little with the shape of the flower petal and I tweaked it a little to look like this:

As you can tell it came out a little bigger than the other one, and this is how the flowers
turned out:

{This picture is a little blurry, but it is the best one I could take!}

I think they came out better than the others. They were fuller, and the petals looked more pretty. Overall I think it just came out more realistic looking! And, instead of a large circle in the middle I just used coordinating thread and made a small dot in the center as you can see!
Again, I hope you will try this, and personally I am very happy with how my little "experiment" came out! =)
Have a great Sunday tomorrow! Our church has a wonderful service, then a Thanksgiving meal and a praise service where we just share testimonies and sing favorites! Its so much fun, and a real blessing!

ta-da!!

Near our house there is an art studio where you can paint pottery, then they glaze it and fire it for you, and when you get it back you have a beautiful piece that is completely your creation! We love going there because it allows you to be so creative and it's just so much fun!
A few weeks ago, we went and this is what I did!

Its a bowl that I can use to throw loose change, or stuff like that in. Or, if I get bored of that I can use it for soup or cereal! =)
I am very happy with how it came out! And while I am showing you this piece I figured I would show you one of the other pieces that I did in the past:

In case you didn't know this....I am obsessed with cute little owls. They are everywhere, and I think they are adorable!
I was so happy today, to finally get my bowl back! =) Hope you have had a wonderful day!

~Felt Flowers~

For a long time I have been wanting to learn how to make cute flower pins that I can adorn my outfit with, my hair with, or just stick somewhere to brighten my day! I frequent a website called Cut Out & Keep because they have SO many cute projects! I found the instructions for these adorable flowers here.

They are incredibly easy, and quick, and they are so much fun! This was my first attempt so it doesn't look as good as her's do, but now that I know how simple they are, I am going to make a bunch in all different colors! =)
Hope you'll give it a try! Let me know how it goes!

Fall-ish Name Cards

Update: The leaves look great! They have kept their color, & their shape! =) I wouldn't bend them or mess with them much because they are obviously still a little brittle, but they are still holding their shape well!

I am soo excited about Thanksgiving in only 10 days! We always have lots of family over, and spend the day baking, talking, watching football, and obviously eating! =)
So, I came up with some creative, and definitely festive name cards:

They are so simple to make, and I think they look really great! Just collect some leaves of all different shapes, sizes and colors! I was amazed as I was collecting some, at how each and every leaf is unique in its own special way! We have an amazing creator!
To keep the leaves from drying out and also to add a nice gloss to them I sprayed them with this sealer that I got from Hobby Lobby.

Technically you are supposed to let it dry for 24 hours, but I couldn't wait to see how it looked! I am not sure if it is actually supposed to go on leaves, but I tried it and I think it worked fine!
You have to let them dry for a couple of hours until they are no longer tacky and then you can decorate away! I just folded some beige cardstock and then wrote everyone's name in a fancy script!

This is an awesome way to use what God has created! I love fall leaves and it was so much fun finding the prettiest ones!
I hope you enjoy, and I hope your holiday is so special!

Handmade Blanket

Hey y'all! I'm back, and ready with some new projects to show you! =) I am excited and hoping that I will finally be able to keep up with new posts regularly. Plus, I am thrilled that the holiday season is finally here, not only because Thanksgiving and Christmas are my two most favorite days in the year, but also because I these two months are the months when there seem to be so many projects to do!
Anyways, I am here to proudly show you my quilt that I finished a few days ago {with a lot of help from my little sewing army - my mom! =) }

I love it! It is so fun, and also very cozy!

Everything, and I mean everything was hand sewn!! I sewed the little yellow center to the white piece, then the whole flower to the square and then the square to the blanket! Obviously this was a long process, but totally worth it because I can say I made it by hand!

Jack loves it too! =) It was a wonderfully cold day {finally}. A perfect day to put on some fun, warm socks, and snuggle under a warm blanket with a good book and Jack by your side!
